120th WPGA Open Championship Qualifying Round
Diamond Run Golf Club, Sewickley, PA

This notice serves as confirmation for 120th WPGA Open Qualifying on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Diamond Golf Club. Qualifying is 18 holes with a field of 74 players. The number of spots the field will be playing for TBD and two (2) alternates. Additional information will be distributed on the first tee.

 

 

Format:  18-holes of stroke play. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf and any Local Rules and Conditions distributed prior to play. In the event of a tie for the final qualifying spot or any alternate, a hole-by-hole playoff will take place immediately following the conclusion of play, on holes to be determined by the Committee .

 

Practice: Practice rounds can be scheduled by contacting the golf shop at 412-741-2582. Practice rounds are available at the discretion of the golf shop. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player. Practice rounds will be at a cost of $100.

 

Tee Markers: All play is from the WPGA WHITE tee markers (Approximately 6,600 Yards). Yardages will be contingent on course conditions.

 

Transportation/Caddies:  Automotive transportation is permitted for the qualifier and is included in the entry fee. Two carts will be permitted for threesomes and one cart per twosome. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties. Diamond Run does not offer caddies. Push Carts are permitted for the Qualifier.

 

Lodging: Lodging of various price ranges can be found in the Sewickley, PA area. You may also create an account with Affinity Travel Benefits here and find lodging close to the tournament site on the Association Tournaments tab.

 

Food: The WPGA provides water on course. Lunch will be provided after the round and is included in your entry fee. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.

 

Footwear:   Model Local Rule G-7 Prohibiting the Use of Certain Types of Shoes is in effect. Shoes with traditional metal spikes or spikes of any design that are partially or entirely made of metal are prohibited.

 

Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20). The Pace of Play Policy can be found HERE.

 

Spectator Info: No spectator carts will be permitted for the competition without pre-approved ADA verification. Please contact the WPGA office for ADA guidelines. ADA carts are based on availability. Spectators may purchase lunches at their own expense. . Directions to the club can be found on the Diamond Run Golf Club website.
