2023 WPGA Senior Series and Super Senior Series # 2

This notice serves as confirmation for WPGA Senior Series and Super Senior Series # 2 on Thursday July 20, 2023, at Centre Hills Country Club in State College, PA.  Additional information will be distributed on the starting tee. The locker room and practice facility will open at 7:00 AM the day of the tournament. 

 

At least one member of the grouping is encouraged to download the Golf Genius scoring app prior to arrival.  The groupings GGID will be provided on the first tee.

  

Format: 18-holes of stroke play for the Senior and Super-Senior Divisions.  The competition will be played on the Findlay and Jones layouts (each has 9 holes). Play is governed by the USGA The Rules of Golf and any Local Rules and Conditions distributed at the starting tee. In the event of a tie for first place, a hole-by-hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.

 

 

Tee Markers: Play for the Senior Series will be from the WHITE Tee Markers. Play for the Super-Senior Series will be from the BLUE Tee Markers. The course will play par 71 at 6300 yards depending on conditions and is subject to change for the Senior Series and par 71 at roughly 6,000 yards for the Super Senior Series.

 

Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20). A checkpoint system will be in place for the qualifying rounds.

 

Practice: Practice rounds must be pre-arranged by contacting the golf shop at 814-238-0111. The Golf Professional is Sean Farren. Practice rounds are available on at the discretion of the golf shop. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player. Practice range balls are complimentary the morning of the competition.

 

Transportation/Caddies: Carts are permitted and included in the entry fee. Players may bring their own caddies. Players are permitted to use push trolleys for the round.

 

Food: Lunch is included and will be available at the conclusion of the round.

 

Footwear: Model Local Rule G-7 Prohibiting Use of Certain Types of Shoes is in effect. Shoes with traditional spikes or spikes of any design that are entirely or partially made of metal is prohibited.

 

Lodging: Lodging of various price ranges can be found in the State College area.

 

Evacuation Plan: In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, all players are to immediately return to the clubhouse.   WPGA staff and volunteers will assist in evacuation.

 

Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes.

 

Spectator Info: No spectator carts will be permitted for the round without pre-approved ADA verification. Please contact the WPGA office for ADA guidelines.
