74th Brothers Tournament and Brothers Net Tournament

Please see information related to the 74th Brothers Tournament on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Shannopin Country Club in Pittsburgh, PA. The starting tee will be hole #1. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tee prior to the start of the competition.

Format: 18 Holes of Stroke Play, Chapman Format

Chapman or Pinehurst Stroke Play: In Chapman or Pinehurst stroke play, two players play as partners, each playing from the teeing ground and each playing his partner’s ball for the second shot. After the second shot, partners select the ball in the best position and play that ball, continuing to alternate shots until the ball is holed.

Tee Markers: The Brothers Tournament will be played from the WPGA  WHITE Tee Markers with a yardage of approximately 6,400 yards. 

Practice: Practice rounds are available and are at the discretion of the golf shop, and only available after the close of entries.  Practice rounds must be made in advance by contacting Shannopin CC at 412-761-6377,and are at the expense of the player. 

Prizes: A trophy will be awarded to the winning team in both the Gross and Net divisions. Prizes will consist of credits in the host club’s golf shop.

Transportation/Caddies: Golf carts are permitted and are included in your entry fee.  Caddies are permitted and must walk in performance of their duties.

Evacuation Plan: In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation all players should return immediately to the Clubhouse.

Footwear: Metal cleats are prohibited. The penalty is disqualification.

Playoff: In the event of a tie for the tournament, a hole-by-hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.

Food: The WPGA provides lunch for players. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.
