30th WPGA Spring Stroke Play Championship

Conducted by the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association

Thursday, May 11, 2023 - Nemacolin Country Club, Beallsville, PA

 


This notice serves as confirmation for entry into the WPGA Spring Stroke Play Championship on Thursday May 11, 2023, at Nemacolin Country Club in Beallsville, PA.  Additional information will be distributed on the starting tees. The locker room and practice facility will open at 7:00 am the day of the tournament.

 

At least one member of each grouping is encouraged to download the Golf Genius scoring app prior to arrival.  The groups GGID will be provided on the first tee.  

 

Format:  The competition is 36 holes of stroke play. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf and any Local Rules and Conditions distributed at the starting tees. In the event of a tie for first place, a hole-by-hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.

 

Tee Markers:  Play will be from the WPGA White Tee Markers.  The course will play par 70 at 6600 yards depending on conditions and subject to change.  The starting tees will be holes # 1 and # 10 for both the morning and afternoon rounds.

 

Pace of Play:  The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20).  A checkpoint system will be in place.

 

Practice: Practice rounds may be scheduled and must be pre-arranged by contacting the golf shop at 724-632-5443.  The Golf Professional is Josh Kokoska.  Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player.

 

Transportation/Caddies: Carts are permitted for the competition and included in the entry fee. Players may bring their own caddies.  Players are permitted to use push trolleys for the round.

 

Food: Lunch is included and will be available at the conclusion of the morning round.

 

Footwear:   Model Local Rule G-7 Prohibiting the Use of Certain Types of Shoes is in effect.  Shoes with traditional metal spikes or spikes of any design that are partially or entirely made of metal are prohibited.

 

Lodging: Lodging of various price ranges can be found in the Bentleyville area near Interstate 70. 

 

Evacuation Plan:  In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, all players are to immediately return to the clubhouse.  WPGA staff and volunteers will assist in the evacuation.

NOTE:  A suspension of play for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note.  All other suspensions of play will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes.  Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes.

 

 

Spectator Info: No spectator carts will be permitted for the round without pre-approved ADA verification. Please contact the WPGA office for ADA guidelines.
