124th WPGA Amateur Championship Qualifying

Wednesday June 5, 2024 - Latrobe Elks Golf Club, Latrobe, PA
This notice serves as confirmation for 2024 WPGA Amateur Championship qualifying round on Wednesday June 5, 2024 at Latrobe Elks Golf Club in Latrobe, PA. Qualifying is 18-holes and the field is 69 players. The number of spots the field is playing for is nineteen (19) spots and two (2) alternates. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tee. The locker room and practice area will be open at least one hour prior to the first starting time on the day of the tournament.
At least one member of each grouping is required to download the Golf Genius scoring app prior to arrival. The groups GGID will be provided on the first tee.
Format: 18 holes of stroke play with a field of 69 players. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf and any Local Rules and Conditions distributed at the starting tee. In the event of a tie for the final qualifying spot or any alternate, a hole-by-hole playoff will take place on holes determined by the committee.
Tee Markers: Play will be from the WPGA White Tee Markers. The course will play par 72 at 6,450 yards depending on conditions and subject to change. All play will start from the first tee.
Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20). A checkpoint system will be in place.
Practice: Practice rounds can be scheduled by contacting the golf shop at 724-539-1582. The Golf Professional is Mike Thomas. Practice rounds are available at the discretion of the golf shop. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player.
Transportation/Caddies: Carts are permitted for the qualifying round and included in the entry fee. Players may bring their own caddies. Players are permitted to use push trolleys for the round.
Food: Lunch is included and will be available at the conclusion of the round.
Footwear: Model Local Rule G-7 Prohibiting the Use of Certain Types of Shoes is in effect. Shoes with traditional metal spikes or spikes of any design that are partially or entirely made of metal are prohibited.
Lodging: Lodging of various price ranges can be found in the Latrobe area near US Route 30.
Evacuation Plan: In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, all players are to immediately return to the clubhouse. WPGA staff and volunteers will assist in the evacuation.
NOTE: A suspension of play for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other suspensions of play will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes.
Spectator Info: No spectator carts will be permitted for the round without pre-approved ADA verification. Please contact the WPGA office for ADA guidelines.
